The Truth about MSG Monosodium Glutamate Clinical Nutrition

What effects does MSG have on diet, obesity, health and food cravings?

Because MSG is absorbed very quickly in the gastrointestinal tract (unlike glutamic acid-containing proteins in foods), MSG could spike blood plasma levels of glutamate. Glutamic acid is in a class of chemicals known as excitotoxins, high levels of which have been shown in animal studies to cause damage to areas of the brain unprotected by the blood-brain barrier and that a variety of chronic diseases can arise out of this neurotoxicity.

Dr. Vincent Bellonzi is a chiropractor and a Certified Clinical Nutritionist. He has been in practice for over 12 years. He received his Doctorate from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1991.

Since 1998, Dr. Bellonzi has practiced in the Austin area. He works with athletes at every level to provide sports conditioning and rehabilitation.

    Anysoup from a can …
Anysoup from a can or a restuarant has MSG because they use bullion cubes. Bullion is mostly MSG. Make soup from scratch then freeze it for later.

Lowfat & Skim milk have MSG! Only whole milk is ok. lowfat milk has the milkfat taken out and it is replaces with powdered milk which contains MSG

all powdered cheese (like doritos, cheetos, etc) is high in MSG. And any powdered flavors on chips, crackers, etc..

    i occasionally get …
i occasionally get reactions from certain foods. even if a restaurant doesn’t cook with MSG, some of the pre-made sauces they buy often do. my worst reaction: my face went numb and tingly, clammy and ghostly white, i lost my vision for about 5 minutes, and remember feeling like i was unable to move. after about 10 – 15 minutes the effects passed and i was fine. scary experience though. read up about it, there are certain common ingredients that have msg secretly in it, there are lists online.

    Chinese restaurants …
Chinese restaurants use MSG unsparingly. Keep a note of that. Side effects after meal are: headaches, drowsiness, hair loss, and cancer. Those who are allergic get headaches. MSG ultimately blocks the circulation of brain fluid in the skull; thus, trapping fluid in the brain. Two people in Vietnam were known to have died from excessive MSG uptake.

    Um, yeah. It …
Um, yeah. It probably is. It’s also the reason poor people are fat. Cheap food is filled with msg, i.e. ramen noodles, canned goods, tv dinners.

200 years ago, if you were poor, you were most likely skinny.

    If you want a V8 …
If you want a V8 equivalent get Vita Mix Blender and make your own. That’s a much better alternative and easy to make.

Which explains why I can eat a relatively healthy meal and then feel horrible after…reg health pasta or a classic health bar…

I am 42, and I’ve just realized MSG is a problem for me. I just have to have a drink of low-sodium V8, and I can feel the anxiety and troubling thoughts occur. I have to go to whole foods to get my V8 equivalent nowadays.

if youre not getting nutrition from the food you eat, MSG will tell your brain otherwise. There is no nutrition in fast food. Subway is excellent fast food thats healthy.
